up standing clean comedy roster 1200x1600

In 2007, Timmy Boyle was given a surprising opportunity by comedian Leland Klassen...which quickly opened a door to a career in entertainment.  As a result, Up Standing Comedy has been committed to paying it forward.

Since it’s 2011 inception, “The Circuit” comedy tour has purposed to highlight world-class, clean headlining acts and help raise up a next-generation of clean entertainers.  Over the years, we have come alongside many aspiring comedians - from all walks of life - by providing invaluable stage time, immediate feedback from seasoned pros as well as verbal & experiential mentoring.

We are proud to have officially gathered a few of these dedicated performers under the Up Standing Comedy brand in an effort to reward them for their growth in a very challenging industry and to take the mentoring process to another level.

Our developmental roster of exciting up & comers (introduced below) combined with Timmy’s production experience, performance versatility and his relationships with prominent clean headliners ensures, regardless of event size, Up Standing Comedy has the ability to create a live comedy event that fits your needs & your budget!

Meet the Team

Each one of the following comedians are at very different stages in their journey & still have a long way to go...
but all of them definitely deserve to be here. Some might be at your next event!

Cheridan Richardson

I am 18 years old. I was raised for most of my life in Trenton Ontario. Due to a problematic childhood, when I was 5 years old I lived in Oshawa on welfare with my biological mom and my brother. I got real good at stealing bread. Ha! Just kidding. I stole cars.

Finally when I was 8 years old I came back to Trenton to live with my amazing dad, and got a bonus mom and a bonus little brother. Soon after, my lovely new mom homeschooled me. At this time too I got involved in drama groups and music. I've always loved acting and would love to be involved in film-making from acting and directing to screenwriting. I took singing, drumming and guitar lessons, played the Virgin Mary a dozen times at church, and was part of groups like Spirit Borne Performing Arts and Young Company shows at the Stirling Festival Theatre,

In November 2018, I starting going to an Open Mic night in Stirling ON where Timmy Boyle was entertaining everyone with his stories and interpretive dancing (Don't ask). Having never done stand-up comedy in my life, I thought, "How about I give it a try. I was incredibly nervous but I prepared a comedy set and performed it the next week. As if out of a Disney movie, Timmy Boyle (we'll say he's the Fairy Godmother) came up to me, handed me his business card and said, "Would you like to open my show?" I have now opened 7 of his shows on 3 different tours across Ontario and I have no reason to stop now

Craig McKibbon

Craig has used the power of humour his whole entire life. Though earlier in life it brought multiple visits to the principal’s office, he has continued to use humour to inspire and encourage people wherever they were at in life.

Having competed as a teenager provincially as a public speaker, Craig learned very early in life that though technology continually changes, nothing has the power of the spoken word. So after decades of speaking to hundreds of people on a weekly basis, he has taken his unique take on life to the comedy stage.

Knowing that laughter is most often the best form of medicine (unless one has diarrhea), Craig’s approach to clean comedy leaves people in stitches… without the dirty aftertaste.

Jared Groenewegen

Jared is a seasoned entertainer, not only with stand-up comedy, but also with music and acting. He has been performing stand-up comedy since 2013, and has been privileged to work with such comedians as Joey I.L.O., Darren Streblow, Steve Geyer, Matt Falk, and Leland Klassen

Kevin O'Boyle

Kevin has been a fan of stand-up comedy for as long as he can remember. It was that avid fandom that originally brought him to the stage and drives him to create content that truly makes himself laugh. Kevin is obsessively original and brings a unique and hilarious perspective with his witty observational-style comedy.

Evan Dunne

Evan works for not-for-profit called Youth Unlimited where he works directly with youth and in fundraising. As a survivor of youth homelessness and an addictive past Evan often speaks at various events and schools to raise awareness for those who experience youth homelessness. He has over seven years experience with public speaking in the form of comedy, emceeing, and facilitating fundraising events. Evan is a student studying Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care at Martin Luther University College, which is federated with Wilfred Laurier University.

Todd Gale

Todd Gale is a radio DJ at LIFE 100.3. He hosts the popular Get-Up & Go Show weekday mornings. He also likes to share his unique look at marriage, family and middle-age on stages across Ontario! He's toured on Up Standing Comedy’s The Circuit with John Crist, Joey I.L.O. and Leland Klassen. He also lends his comedic efforts to fundraisers and couples nights. Todd lives with his wife Rose in Barrie and enjoys coffee, vacuuming and eating pizza.

John Kerr

John is from Stirling, Ontario and has been performing stand-up comedy for the last few years.  He has really been able to gain experience while developing his routine and skills during his time with Up Standing Comedy’s Circuit. John looks forward to continuing to grow with each performance. His comedy inspiration usually comes from family, kids & life, in general.  He says, “It comes easy when life is so funny”.

Robert & Rina Beckham

High School sweethearts, Rob and Rina have been married since 1990.  Their comedy story started in 2015 when Rob began performing stand-up.  After 3 years & a couple hundred sets, Rob’s “one-man” act took the first steps towards becoming a “duo”.  A Brantford area cat shelter had booked Rob for a fundraising event...that still needed a MC. That night, Rina took the stage for the first time and it was magic.  Since then, Rob & Rina have been working in a forgotten form of comedy as a couples act in the style of Sunny and Cher. They have been tirelessly working at their craft at countless shows in and around Southern Ontario to perfect their act.

  • How wonderful to listen to humor based on funny material rather than smut used for shock value.  Thanks Timmy!"
